United Arab Emirates tax residence calculator

Since 2023 the United Arab Emirates has its own definition of tax resident: anyone who stays 183 days or more in the country within twelve consecutive months, or 90 days with UAE or GCC nationality, or with a valid residence permit together with a permanent home or employment in the country.

UAE tax residence is sought above all to obtain the certificate that allows treaties to be applied and tax exit from another country to be proven. The calculator covers the 183-day rolling-window test; the 90-day test with ties is not modelled.

The 90-day test with ties is not modelled. There is no personal income tax; the interest lies in the tax residence certificate for other countries.
